“Kids Day” at the Fair!

“Kids Day” at the Fair!

The Marion County Fairgrounds in Salem saw another great turnout from the community on Monday, August 3rd for “Kid’s Day at the Fair.”  The Marion County Farm Bureau’s (CFB) Ag in the Classroom (AITC) program, in conjunction with U of I Extension and the Marion County Fair Board, helped organize the day’s activities that welcomed over 850 kids and more than 1,300 total visitors including parents and kids.

Kids were able to visit many different stations including AITC’s Spin-to-Win prize wheel, steer roping, collecting eggs, free ice cream from the Young Leaders, merry-go-round rides, milk the goat and model dairy cows, free lunch, hands-on activities, and more!

The day’s activities of course would not be possible without the help of all the volunteers. Members of the Marion County Fair Board, U of I Extension, 4-H members and exhibitors, FFA students, Jr. Miss Contestants, and more!

Additional pictures from the day’s event can be found on the Marion CFB Facebook page.
