08 Jan Marion CFB Recognized with CAE Awards
Marion County Farm Bureau (CFB) was recently recognized for its outstanding programing during the 111th Annual Meeting of the Illinois Farm Bureau.
The County Activities of Excellence (CAE) awards are given to counties with the most outstanding project for each program area. IFB recognizes Gold, Silver, and Bronze ranked programs in each area and membership group. All activities reported shall have taken place between September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025.
There are eight program areas: Ag Literacy, Farm Income & Development, Health & Safety, Advocacy, Local Affairs, Engagement & Outreach, Membership Value, and CFB Foundations & Fundraising. Counties compete for awards with other counties of similar membership size.
Marion CFB is proud to have won awards in a few programming areas for their membership group. We could not have had a successful program year without the support of our members! Here’s a quick summary of awards received for 2025:
GOLD
Local Affairs: “Community Impact Grants”
Engagement & Outreach: “Engaging Youth, Strengthening Community”
SILVER
Membership Value: Blue & Green “Grants for Growth”
BRONZE
Advocacy: “Adopted Community Impact Grants” with Clinton CFB (multi-county)
- Marion CFB President Steve Brummel with an award plaque from Illinois Farm Bureau noting the organization’s four (4) CAE’s.
- Steve Brummel, Brad Hester, Curt Hanks, and Brant Mathena represented Marion County during the Delegate Session of IFB’s Annual Meeting on December 8th. Delegates from across the state discussed policy positions on property taxes, farm income, agricultural education, regenerative agriculture, and more.
