07 Jan Marion CFB Foundation Awards $4,450 in Classroom Grants
Earlier this fall, the Marion County Farm Bureau (CFB) Foundation invited teachers throughout Marion County to apply for funding to support classroom supplies, educational resources, or field trips that relate back to agriculture. In total, 14 applications were submitted—and the Foundation approved all 14, distributing a combined $4,450 in grant funds.
The goal of the grant program is to help teachers bring agriculture to life in their classrooms and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that highlight the importance of the industry.
The grants will be used in a variety of ways, from purchasing classroom materials to organizing field trips that expose students to local farms and agricultural businesses.
To date, the Marion CFB Foundation has awarded grants to over 270 classrooms and provided more than $85,000 in support of agricultural education.
Congratulations to all our teachers and thank you for your dedication to helping students understand the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives.
